Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings - IPL 5 Eliminator

  • Wednesday, May 23, 2012
  • Mumbai Indians have advantage in the eliminator against Chennai Super Kings. Kolkata Knight Riders have made it to the finals of the ongoing Indian Premier League and now three teams will fight it out to play them for the esteemed title. In today’s eliminator match Chennai Super Kings will take on Mumbai Indians at Bangalore.

Both the teams were expected to make it to the playoffs before the tournament started, but nobody thought that they will find it so difficult. CSK is very lucky to be in the top four as their fate depended on other teams and they played it into their hands.

Mumbai on the other hand had a very inconsistent tournament so far; they were commanding in some matches and were ordinary in others. The winner of this match will play Delhi Daredevils and the loser will be out of the contest.

The Chinnaswamy stadium is a gift for many batsmen and therefore the game is likely to be decided on which side has the stronger batting attack. The Mumbai Indian's team have a number of batsmen who have the capacity to do the job alone and score large scores which the rest of the team can build around. Sharma, who scored a huge 109 not out against the Kolkata Knight Riders and has hit a total of 419 runs this season is joined by Rayudu, Franklin and Tendulkar, all of whom have scored over 70 runs in a single innings this season.

Of significance is the fact that Rayudu scored a huge 81 not out at this ground and Tendulkar scored his 74 earlier in the month when actually playing against Chennai. Tendulkar's innings that day led Mumbai to victory over the CSK to add to the victory the Mumbai Indians posted against the CSK on the very first day of the season.

IPL 5 - “Hurricane” Chris - The Phenomenon

  • Thursday, May 17, 2012
  • For the yesterday’s match in Feroshah kotla, it is the spectators in the stands who where the real fielders since as to them was the ball dropping by in frequent intervals- the result of Chris Gayle phenomenon.

Chris Gayle was ferocious in his shots woven with his flamboyant style. The ease at which he smashed the ball to the stands made the bowlers clueless. At one moment it even made the rival captain to laugh at looking at his sixes. The home crowd made a transition in supporting the guest team in awe of his entertaining shots, he made the crowd to look up in the air almost all through his innings because of his thirteen sixes.

The most interesting aspect of him in this IPL season is he competes with self in the highest sixes category and this feet is possible only by him. It reminds me of the legend of his own country Sir Vivian Richards who was of this kind in hitting sixes. Nevertheless one can forget the powerful and ferocious shots of all West Indian players.

Yesterday’s high voltage innings by Chris Gayle was to make their team climb up in Net Run Rate. And its no wonder if Chris Gayle’s hat gets the maximum bidding price, let say 50 crore in the next IPL season. Let us all hope that he continues to be in good form and entertain us.

Kolkata Knight Riders Vs. Mumbai Indians IPL 2012 Live

  • Wednesday, May 16, 2012
  • Today's night is one of the blastering night for all the IPL fans. Two teams which have played well and in top 4  in points table are going to fight with each other to confirm their playoffs berth.Mumbai Indians who blasting win on the last ball was placed after  Delhi Daredevils in the points table. While Kolkata who seemed to be more consistent lost in a row placed after today's opponent Mumbai.  Winning today match will confirm playoffs berth for Mumbai. While Kolkata will improve their chances more by winning today's game.

Kolkata Knight Riders is much dependent on their captain Gautham Gambhir who has been scored in all the games which KKR won. His performance will impact the Kolkata chances while some of the key players are still hunting for form. Yusuy Pathan was not so good so fat and one big innings is awaiting from him. While Manoj Tiwari is not upto his far in batting. Debabrata Das is doing well though he is coming very low in the innings. He has to come up in the order which will defintiely help the team.

Kolkata Sunil Narine is one of the key bowler for KKR who turned the match towards the KKR in this season. He did not had a great match against the Mumbai. Rajat Bhatia is their main bowler, but at times he is going costly.

Sachin failures in recent matches worries Mumbai, One good innings from him will tremendously improve Mumbai Indians position. Though there are lot of good contributions from other fellow mates like Rohit Sharma, and Ambati Rayudu. Swinga Malinga is the backbone of the Mumbai bowling and Harbhajan Singh has to fire and show his impact on the match.

IPL 2012 Pune Warriors Vs Mumbai Indians Preview

  • Wednesday, May 2, 2012
  • The Pune Warriors India started their IPL 2012 campaign with consecutive victories against the Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab – but they’ve lost their last three matches as well. With the race for a place in the top four heating up, they need to immediately arrest their slide and look to move up the table. They are barely above the ground floor of the league standings and have a chance to move into the top half of the table when they take on the Mumbai Indians in Match 45 of DLF IPL 2012.
The Mumbai Indians, rated among the top teams prior to the start of the season, have been rusty too; they have five wins from nine matches and barely scraped through in their previous match against the Deccan Chargers.
Ashok Dinda’s four-wicket haul led the Pune Warriors India to their first ever win over the Mumbai Indians when the two teams met earlier this season. After posting a modest 129 for nine in their 20 overs, PWI restricted their opponents to 101 for nine to win by 28 runs.
Pune Warriors India have a lot of talent and depth in their batting line-up, they haven’t quite scored runs at a pace one would normally associate with Twenty20 cricket. Their overall tournament scoring-rate of 7.50 only highlights the fact that they haven’t quite found their feet yet. Robin Uthappa has the reputation of being one of the most dangerous players in Twenty20 cricket.
The Coorg lad is among the top ten run-getters in the tournament, but his tournament strike-rate of 119.60 (compared to his career strike-rate of 134) only confirms that he has been below par so far. He needs to start firing at the top of the order and hope that the likes of Michael Clarke, Sourav Ganguly and Steve Smith can play their roles too.
Lasith Malinga. Apart from picking up wickets, the Sri Lankan has been miserly too; his economy rate of 5.06 is the best in the tournament, and he will know he is within striking distance of the Purple Cap.
