Major Changes took Place in 2014 Twenty20 World Cup
The 2014 Twenty20 World Cup
schedule has been announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the
match is going to be taken place in Mirpur in Bangladesh on 16th of March. 2014
T20 World Cup tournament includes 16 teams and they are going to play about 51
matches which include 16 warm up matches, 32 group matches, 2 semis and a finals
match.
In 2007 the Twenty20 World Cup

MS Dhoni. In the previous T20 matches there are three teams in each of the four
groups and from the four groups two teams where progressed to super eight and
then four teams progressed to semi finals and followed by finals.
According to the 2014 edition
major changes have been taken place in the tournament which includes three
rounds like the Group Stage, Super 10 and Knockouts. In the Group Stage the
eight teams of the two groups play the match and the two spots available in the
Super 10. The eight teams are divided into two groups where Group A: Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal,
Hong Kong and Group B: Zimbabwe,
Ireland, UAE, Netherlands. Each team will be playing with other three teams
in the group and they earn two points for each win and they share point in case
of Tie. The two teams who score high points in the group table will progress to
Super 10.
In Super 10 already eight teams
have been slotted and they have been divided into two groups Group A: Sri Lanka, England, South Africa,
New Zealand, Qualifier B1 and Group
B: West Indies, India, Pakistan, Australia, Qualifier A1. From the Group
stage the two teams with highest points in the group table will be progressed
to super 10 and they will be playing in the super 10. The point system in the
super 10 is as similar as in the group stage and the two teams from each group
with highpoint of score will play the Knockout match.
Knockouts is nothing but the semi
final matches of the tournament and the topping team from the Group A will be
playing the match with Group B best team and similarly the Group B winner team
