    Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Pune Warriors IPL Match Highlights

  • Pune Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first. R Uthappa and J Ryder opened the innings and gave a flying start to Pune as they added 63 runs in 7 overs for the first wicket partnership.

    J Ryder was the first wicket to fell as he got out after scoring 34 runs off 22 balls (4×4,1×6). After this wicket, R Uthappa smashed RCB Bowlers to sides of the ground as he along with Ganguly took the score past 100. Ganguly again failed today as he was out after scoring just 8 runs but it was Uthappa’s 69 runs off 45 balls (9×4,2×6) and M Samuels 34 off 20 balls (1×4,2×6) which helped Pune post total of 182/6 in 20 overs.

    Chasing 183 to win, RCB lost T Dilshan in the third over when the team score was just 7. C Gayle and M Agarwal then took the score to 42 when RCB received another blow as Agarwal also got out after scoring just 9 runs.

    Gayle and V Kohli had a huge task once again in their hands as RCB needed 120 to win from their last 10 overs. But Kohli failed once again as he got out after scoring just 16 leaving RCB struggling at 72/3 in 11.5 overs. Chris Gayle was the only hope for RCB and he completed his first half century in IPL 2012.


    Gayle continued to hit sixes as he scored 5 sixes of R Sharma’s one over to ensure that the game goes for a thrilling end. Just when it looked Gayle is taking the game away from Pune, Nehra clean bowled him bringing smiles to Pune Warrior’s faces. AB de Villiers was the next batsmen in and he along with Tiwary hit some might sixes and brought RCB closer to victory.

    RCB needed 28 runs to win from 2 overs but superb bowling by Dinda restricted RCB to just 7 runs in the second last over. RCB needed 21 to win from last over and AB de Villiers smashed a four followed by two sixes and on the last ball of the innings, Tiwary hit a six to take his team to a superb 6 wicket win.
