Mumbai Indians vs Deccan Chargers: MI vs DC – Highlights

  • Visakhapatnam become a high-scoring location. Richard Levi might not thoughts it either, with his Popeye hands. A taste of it was seen when he obtained a 50 on IPL introduction, against Chennai Super Kings. Daniel Christian Religious is one of the few big names chargers have in their team. He has been more of a bowling allrounder for australia, but for a weak Chargers side he might need to step up with the bat too.

Monday provides Chargers a chance to upset the slightly shaky Mumbai Indians. It is not an easy job, though. Mumbai Indians have all the means at their disposal, except for Sachin Tendulkar who could miss another game because of his finger injury. They are more hurting than wounded after having lost to the unfancied Pune Warriors India. One big glitch, though, is that even after so many seasons they don’t know how to use Kieron Pollard the batsman.

Sachin Tendulkar’s return to the Mumbai Indians squad for today’s match against Deccan Chargers looks uncertain, after he said on Twitter that the finger injury he sustained in the opening game against Chennai Super Kings did “not look good”. Tendulkar had to retire hurt on 16 after being struck on the glove by Doug Bollinger in the ninth over of the IPL’s opening game between Mumbai Indians and Super Kings. He then missed Mumbai Indians’ first home game, against Pune Warriors, and if he does not play today his next game could be against Rajasthan Royals on April 11.

Just before the start of IPL 2012, Tendulkar had handed over the leadership of the Mumbai Indians to Harbhajan Singh, because he wanted to take a “break from the responsibility of captaincy”. Harbhajan had led Mumbai Indians to the Champions League T20 title last year and was an automatic choice to take over the captaincy.

Mumbai Indians, complimentary of Munaf Patel and Lasith Malinga’s peaceful bowling have managed to control Deccan chargers to a average score of 138 runs in the 9th Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 match in Visakhapatnam.

Shikhar Dhawan top scored for Deccan Chargers with 41 runs off 24 balls.

Munaf was clearly the stand-out bowler for the visiting team with four wickets conceding just 20 runs. Malinga along with Munaf stifled Deccan batting as he grabbed three wickets conceding 27 runs.
