Humiliating Defeat For Mumbai Indians

  • One of the most anticipated match turned out to be the most one-sided match in the IPL 5. After getting out for a paltry 92, it would be almost unrealistic to defend it especially if the opponents are the Delhi Daredevils. The required run rate for Delhi was less than 5 runs per over. All that Delhi needed now was to bat for 20 overs. Virender Sehwag didnt throw his wicket and batted with lot of temperament. His 32 off 36 deliveries showed that he adjusted well to the situation of the match. The match became predictable midway when Delhi started the chase. It just looked that formalities of scoring 93 has to be completed.

The chase was completed in just 14.5 overs. This is a very big margin for a T20 match. DD will be very happy as the win comes with a very good Net Run Rate. And not only that Delhi now are now on the top of the points table. Delhi will have a big relief as this win was a collective effort instead of relying on the big names. Such a big margin definitely a big blow to the Mumbai team and it needs to seen whether they would bounce back in the coming days.

    Brief Scores:

    MI: 92 All Out
    DD: 93/3

    Match Result

Delhi Daredevils won by 7 wickets with 5.1 overs to spare.
Man of the Match: Shahbaz Nadeem. Took 2 wickets for 16 runs. The initial 2 wickets of the MI openers were taken by Nadeem and the MI team never recovered from that huge blows.
