  • The much hyped match turned out to be disappointing for the Mumbai supporters as the team's batting failed to rise to the occasion. The Mumbai team was without the stalwarts Sachin Tendulkar and Lasith Malinga. Virender Sehwag won the toss and chose to bowl first. The decision turned out to be an excellent one for the Delhi Daredevils as wickets started falling right from the second over.

Left arm spinner Nadeem opened the wickets quota and clean bowled the openers Davy Jacob and Richard Levi. Ambati Rayudu got run out after a terrible mix up with Rohit Sharma. Kieron Pollard joined Rohit Sharma. But instead of playing the role of anchor, he went for an ambitious shot and got out. Rohit Sharma played a knock of 29 which included 3 top edge boundaries. Even he too looked struggling. Then it wsa Dinesh Karhik's turn to retun to the pavilion.

Harbhajan Singh started his explosive batting and the 12th over of Ajit Agarkar resulted in 17 runs. In the meantime Mckay got out for 8 and RP Singh for a duck. The score was 80/8. Harbhajan Sing made 33 off 22 deliveries before getting out. Finally MI were all out for 92. No one would have expected that the top ranking team would crumble in such a fashion.

Even this wouldn't have been possible without the captain's knock of 33 and Rohit Sharma's 29. The rest of the batsmen were out for single digit scores!. Spectators looked gloomy and the entire Wankhade Stadium became silent inspite of huge crowd.

The score of 92 would not be enough for the might batting line up of the Dare Devils which includes Kevin Peterson, Mahela Jayawardene, Ross Taylor and so on. Before the start of the match everyone were talking only about the batting of DD. But after restricting the MI to 92, the bowling looks much more disciplined with all the bowlers contributing. Delhi Daredevils had very well exploited the Mumbai batting and are on the verge of climbing on the top of the table.

    Brief Scores:

Mumbai Indians Batting: Harbhajan – 33(22), Rohit Sharma 29(27)

Delhi Daredevils bowling: Nadeem, Morkel, Agarkar and Yadav shared 2 wickets each and Irfan Pathan picked up one.
